During the month of October, 5th class worked on Forensic Science. We had to solve the case of the stolen trophy and find out who committed the crime. We observed different types of fingerprints and studied our own, we did a chromatography experiment to see whose pen was used to write the ransom note. We used play doh to take sample shoes prints to see if we could match it to the one at found at the crime scene. Lastly, we tested a variety of powders to see if we could determine what the mystery powder was that was found at the scene. We tested the powders using our senses and using water/vinegar to see if there would be a chemical reaction. We then compiled all our evidence to see who could be main suspect and what their motive was. We really enjoyed the experiments and trying to solve the case. It was so much fun!
