About Our School

Annaduff National School is situated behind the church on the main N4 in the village of Aghamore, approximately 10km from Carrick-on-Shannon. The children come from a mainly rural area. The school was officially opened in May, 1986. A new playing field was bought and developed in 1992. In 2015 a new extension was built, the playing field was further developed and a new playground was built.

In 2017 an additional extension was built to cater for the growing needs of the school. In 2020 our first special class was opened and in 2022 we opened our second one. An AstroTurf pitch was constructed in 2021 funded mainly by the granting of a CLAR grant.

In 2023 a new footpath was constructed to the eastern side of the school under the Active Travel Strategy. We have secured approval for the construction of a 439 square meter, 2 classroom SEN base and staff room. These plans were lodged with the Department of Education in December 2023.

We have an administrative Principal, Ms. Clare Caslin and the Deputy Principal is Ms Sandra Gunning. We have 8 mainstream class teachers, 2 special class teachers, 3 Special Education teachers and 8 Special Needs Assistants. We have approximately 200 children on roll.
