FCÁT is the Irish acronym for Foghlaim Chomhtháite Ábhar agus Teanga. It is an educational approach, promoted by the Department of Education, in which subjects are taught through the target language (Gaeilge). By learning subject content through Irish, students strengthen both their language skills and their understanding of the subject, leading to richer, more meaningful learning.
